Roscosmos CEO Igor Komarov spoke about plans for launching and placing in the orbit the spacecraft “Federation” from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in 2022.
According to him, improved Soyuz 5 will become a launch vehicle. Increased competition in the sphere of service and launch means will allow cut expenses for development and increase the size of bearable load. In other words, efficiency of the launch vehicle will grow.
Russia will continue cooperation with Kazakhstan within the development. Kazakhstan will support the majority of land-based infrastructure financially.
Roscosmos CEO also noted that NGOs, S7 Airlines in particular, also expressed their interest in making investments in the development.
