First aerospike engine was built in two months

ARCA Space Corporation has started ground tests of the world's first linear aerospike engine. The prototype took only 60 days to complete. It will be installed on the Demonstrator 3 rocket to accomplish a suborbital flight after the ground testing is completed.

Aerospike engine was not used before. The main advantage is that such an engine can work in the atmosphere and in space as well. This will help effectively using single-stage rockets, which will replace the multistage rocket used now.

World's largest space agencies, including NASA, have been working on the creation of aerospike engine for many years. However, the ARCA Corporation is the one who came closer to the beginning of technological revolution in space exploration.
