Chinese communication satellite Tianlian-1 was successfully launched from the spaceport in Sichuan on the night of November 22nd to 23rd. A three-stage rocket of Chinese production Long March-3B lifted the satellite into orbit.
It will play a supportive role in data relay for satellites in low and medium orbits. Also, it will be responsible for maintaining control over each Chinese spacecraft launching, supporting laboratory modules and stations operation.
Earlier, three similar apparatus have been lifted into orbit. It is planned to make these four satellites a part of the global data relay network.
