On May 1, the eighth flight by VSS Unity, a SpaceShipTwo-class suborbital spaceplane produced by Virgin Galactic, was successfully completed. The aim of such a launch was to test the system of the upper turn of empennage used for aerodynamic braking while landing.
There were two pilots aboard the ship VSS Unity as well as two pilots and an onboard engineer in White Knight Two. According to the team, test results are quite inspiring. Virgin Galactic hasn’t provided more details about the flight yet.
